intu Watford reopens ahead of the Christmas shop
intu Watford will safely open for non-essential retail on Wednesday 2 December with extended shopping hours, following the government's announcement.
The regional shopping destination will now remain open until 7pm Monday-Saturday between 2 - 20 December, and until 8pm from 21-23 December. The centre will also open on Christmas Eve from 9am-5pm, for shoppers wanting to get some last-minute 'panic buys' (*please see full opening timetable below).
Wearing a face covering in the centre will continue to be mandatory and intu Watford's team will be reminding everyone to do so if necessary. Hand sanitisers will remain at entrances and exits and throughout the mall and visitors are reminded to adhere to social distancing.
The number of people inside intu Watford will continue to be monitored.
"Safety is our absolutely priority," says the centre director, Vicki Costello. She adds "We are pleased to be able to reopen for non-essential retailers and give our shoppers a feeling of Christmas magic.
"Our Christmas lights will shine bright and illuminate the shopping centre as normal and festive music will play throughout to bring joy to everyone. Families will be able to do some festive shopping, grab a mince pie or two and even book a restaurant to eat, drink and be merry. There is plenty to look forward to this Christmas at intu Watford."
During the second Lockdown, intu Watford remained partially open for essential retailers, Click & Collect and eateries offering takeaway options. Throughout this period, the robust deep cleaning of the centre also continued.
*Individual retailer times may vary. Please check their website before travelling.
