On Saturday 3rd September devoted dad Rob Pritchard completed ‘Dad’s 10 Mile Dribble’ in aid of Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. He started the challenge at énergie Fitness for Women in Newport Pagnell at 10am and completed it in record time just 3 hours later at Fit4less in the Theatre District.

He received an overwhelming response from the public and was supported by well-wishers throughout his 10 mile journey, but Rob’s No.1 fan was son Lucas who watched on in admiration as his dad completed the challenge. On the day, Sainsbury’s at The Hub welcomed donations and street collections also took place across Milton Keynes, raising a total of £300.

In September 2010, six-year-old Lucas Pritchard was diagnosed with ‘high risk’ leukaemia, after feeling sick during U6 training session at Newport Pagnell Town FC. Football games and school lessons have since been replaced by twice weekly trips to hospital – the brave six-year-old is now a regular at Milton Keynes and John Radcliffe Hospitals. However, parents Rob and Melanie Pritchard handled the situation with great strength, and have set about raising much needed funds for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research since his diagnosis last year.

Energie Fit4less, Milton Keynes have supported the cause by providing Rob with free access to their city centre based club, along with a tailored personal fitness program to help him reach his goal.

Rob Pritchard said: “I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me during the past months. It has been a huge challenge both physically and mentally, but when I finally crossed the finish line today it made all the hard work worthwhile.”

If you would like to support the cause you can do so by visiting Lucas’ Just Giving page Your contribution will make a difference to the lives of the 28,500 people diagnosed every year with a blood cancer.
